  A: Start by removing the fuel injector sight shield before draining the coolant below the Thermostat's level. Start by taking out both the crossover Exhaust Pipe and the Radiator Hose which connects to the Thermostat Housing. Starting by cleaning any sealer off bolt threads you should next remove the Thermostat Housing bolts. After cleaning the threads install the Thermostat and the Thermostat Housing. You should first clean the mating surfaces before placing the new Thermostat and Thermostat Housing in position. Treat the Thermostat Housing bolt threads with rtv sealer gm p/n 12378478 (Canadian P/N 88900041) or equivalent and install the Thermostat Housing bolts until they reach 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Connect the Radiator Hose to the Thermostat Housing then install the crossover Exhaust Pipe before placing the fuel injector sight shield back in position. Pour coolant into the system for inspection of any leaks with necessary repairs performed.
