How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

To change the crankshaft rear oil seal, remove the engine Flywheel and dispose of existing crankshaft rear oil seal (141). It is essential that the inner diameter (ID) of the oil seal and the crankshaft surface should not become lubricated and the old oil seal cannot be re-installed. It starts by oiling the outside diameter of the new oil seal (141) into clean engine oil, making sure no oil seeps into the seal surface. Next, oil up the rear cover oil seal bore using clean engine oil so that it does not touch the crankshaft surface. Mount the j41479 tapered cone and bolts on the rear of the crankshaft tightening the bolts until tight yet not overtightened. Ensure the consistency of the bearing surface of the rear oil seal and the cone before pushing it through the rear cover bore. Thread the j41479 threaded rod into the tapered cone until it strikes the oil seal and align the oil seal into the tool . Turn the handle of the tool clockwise until the seal is seating on the back cover and bottoms in the cover bore. Lastly, take the j41479 out, then re-attach the engine Flywheel.
