How to replace the front brake caliper bracket on 2006 Chevrolet SSR?

Start by lifting your vehicle and taking off the tire before testing the brake caliper system. Use heavy mechanic's wire or an equivalent to hold up the brake caliper whenever hydraulic flexible brake hose stays connected to avoid damaging the hose and causing brake fluid leak. Begin by taking out the brake assembly then placing it to the side before examining brake pads and all connected hardware. Take out the brake rotor guide pin seals after removing brake caliper mounting bracket bolts and its bracket parts for rotor inspection. Start setting the guide pin seals on the mounting bracket before cleaning guide pins and Brake Pad retaining clips with denatured alcohol if reusing and air-dry with filtered non-lubricated air. Use high temperature silicone brake lubricant on the caliper guide pins after avoiding pads' clips before putting the entire bracket into place and securing bolts to 150 nm (110 ft. Lbs.) torque. Install brake pads onto hardware parts before placing brake caliper back in place then replace tire and wheel assembly while lowering the vehicle. Press the brake pedal gradually until the brake pads settle into proper position.
