    Q:
How to replace the front brake caliper bracket on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The vehicle requires a lift and tire assembly removal before starting to replace the front Brake Caliper Bracket. Then unscrew the brake caliper guide pin bolts while keeping the brake caliper hose connected. Pull out the brake caliper by supporting it with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent. Start by subtracting Brake Pad seizers from both sides of the brake caliper and then record the sensor position for future assembly before removing Brake Pad shims and Brake Caliper Bracket bolts. Remove the Brake Caliper Bracket after you remove the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts. Begin installation by installing the Brake Caliper Bracket followed by proper tightening of the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts to 160 nm (118 lb ft). Install both Brake Pad shims and inner and outer brake pads while making sure wear sensors find their correct spots. Decide to locate your brake caliper on the bracket followed by fitment of relaxed brake caliper guide pin bolts. Complete installation with torque to 42 nm (31 lb ft) for the upper brake caliper guide pin bolt and 42 nm (31 lb ft) for the lower brake caliper guide pin bolt. Reinstall the tire along with the wheel assembly then lower the vehicle down.
