How to replace the front brake calipers on 2006 Chevrolet Uplander?

Before installing the front brake caliper inspect the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir and drain fluid when the level reaches halfway between highest tolerance and lowest safe level. For starting the work lift the vehicle and take out the tire and wheel assembly. Apply two wheel lug nuts to keep the rotor in place on the hub before using a large c-clamp to push the Brake Caliper Piston into the bore through tight pressure against the back of the outboard Brake Pad. Separate the brake caliper from brake hose and take out the two copper brake hose gaskets found on the caliper or hose ends for replacement. Seal off both brake caliper and hose holes before you clean the area close to the brake hose fitting. Separate the brake caliper bolts to remove the brake caliper assembly from its bracket. Check caliper pin boots for any damage and replace them when worn out. Also inspect the caliper pins for rust buildup and replace them at that time. Fix the caliper bolt boots right and hang the caliper onto its bracket. Then secure the Brake Caliper Bolt at 54 nm (40 ft. Lbs.). Install replacement gaskets on aluminum brake hose hose ends then use the bolt with new gaskets to assemble it onto the brake hose side and bolt it at 54 nm (40 ft. Lbs.). Position the tire and wheel after you unthread and remove the rotor hub nuts. Add brake fluid until the cylinder is full and perform brake system bleeding. Use the j 28662 brake pedal effort gage for ten seconds to measure 778 nm (175 ft. Lbs.) of brake pedal force and check for hydraulic system leaks at the brake caliper and braking components.
