- Q: How to replace the RH engine mount and engine mount bracket on 2006 GMC Envoy?A: The replacement of right engine mount and bracket requires disconnecting the battery negative cable followed by cooling fan removal. Start by removing the electrical connection and retainer of the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor followed by disconnection of the MAP Sensor. The right shock module should be taken out before removing the frame engine mount. First detach the engine mount upper nuts from right and left sides before using a vehicle lift to remove the lower mount nuts on both sides. The jack placement on the Oil Pan must be done with care to avoid damaging the oil level sender and you need to remove the engine protection shield first. Use a floor jack and wooden block to raise the engine until it clears the mount studs while resting on the jack positioned beneath the Oil Pan. First remove the right engine mount from its bracket while recording the heat shield placement for reinstallment and afterward remove the bracket bolts. The right engine mount bracket needs removal while you may also need to remove the right frame engine mount bracket bolts and its bracket component. The installation process includes attaching the right frame engine mount bracket after its removal then torquing the bolts to 110 nm (81 ft. Lbs.). After placing the right engine mount bracket into position you should install bolts for it while tightening them to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Then install the right engine mount with the heat shield fully covering the right side anti-rotation feature. Place the engine onto its mounts before applying right and left upper engine mount nuts which must be tightened to 70 nm (52 ft. Lbs.). Raise the vehicle and take out the floor jack. The installation process begins by adding bolts to secure the engine protection shield whereas right and left lower engine mount nuts need installation and torquing to 70 nm (52 ft. Lbs.). Begin by lowering the vehicle and replace the right shock module before installing the MAP Sensor retained together with its electrical connector. The final step entails connecting the cooling fan hub nut to the water pump shaft followed by installation of the cooling fan and final connection of the battery negative cable.
