GMC Envoy Engine Mount Bracket Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the LH engine mount and engine mount bracket on GMC Envoy?
    A:
The procedure starts with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and Fan Clutch electrical connector before left engine mount and bracket replacement. The Water Pump Pulley's cooling Fan Clutch should be removed by using j 46406 (Fan Clutch Remover and Installer) so it can stay loosed within the Fan Shroud. Start by disconnecting the MAP Sensor electrical connector and retainer followed by extracting the MAP Sensor from its place. The left shock module must be taken out when removing the frame mount. Rise the vehicle after unbolted right and left upper engine mount nuts to remove right and left lower engine mount nuts. When installing the jack onto the Oil Pan you must be cautious not to strike the oil level sender to avoid damage. Some maintenance personnel prefer to place a floor jack with wood block underneath the Oil Pan before lifting the engine with just enough elevation to clear the engine mount stud. The installer must remove the left engine mount to bracket nut while removing the mount from its bracket. Next they will remove left engine mount bracket bolts followed by the left engine mount bracket itself. The procedure includes bolt removal from the left frame engine mount bracket when necessary together with the removal of the bracket itself. Use bolts to install the left frame engine mount bracket but apply 110 nm (81 lb ft) of torque while doing so when this bracket was previously removed. Introduce the left engine mount bracket and fasten it with bolts which need to be tightened to 50 nm (37 lb ft). After that, attach the left engine mount to its bracket. Secure engine upper mount nuts right and left side with proper torque of 70 nm (52 lb ft). After lifting the vehicle with the jack follow by removing it we should put on the engine protection shield using bolts for securing. Drive the vehicle downward with the right and left lower engine mount nuts tightened to 70 nm (52 lb ft). The left shock module needs to be reinstalled together with the MAP Sensor and both the retainer and electrical connector. Install the Fan Clutch to the Water Pump Pulley through j 46406 (Fan Clutch Remover and Installer) then connect the Fan Clutch electrical connector and restore the negative Battery Cable.
  • Q: How to replace the right engine mount and engine mount bracket on GMC Envoy?
    A:
The right engine mount and bracket replacement requires the disconnect of both the battery negative cable and Fan Clutch electrical connector. Operators should remove the cooling Fan Clutch from the Water Pump Pulley with the Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) until the clutch stays loose inside the Fan Shroud. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector followed by its retainer and proceed with removing the MAP Sensor. The removal of the frame engine mount requires the right shock module to be extracted from its position. Rise the vehicle before removing right and left upper engine mount nuts followed by upper engine mount nuts. Place the jack on top of the Oil Pan but avoid damaging the oil level sender during this process. Position a floor jack beneath the Oil Pan while using wood to support it. Lift the engine slightly to pass by the engine mount studs. The right engine mount should be removed from its bracket with attention paid to heat shield position. After this remove right engine mount bracket bolts to take out the right engine mount bracket. To continue with this step remove the bolts that secure the right frame engine mount bracket and simultaneously take out the bracket. Install the right frame engine mount bracket after removing it when required while tightening bolts to 110 nm (81 lb ft). Start by positioning the right engine mount bracket correctly before secure it with bolts tightened to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Following that install the right engine mount with correct placement of the heat shield. Installer the right and left upper engine mount nuts with a torque of 70 nm (52 lb ft). The floor jack should be removed after lifting the vehicle to the point where engine protection shield bolts can be installed for secure attachment. Drive the car down while securing the right and left lower engine mount nuts to a torque of 70 nm (52 lb ft). Reinstall both the right shock module with the MAP Sensor and retainer and its electrical connector. To complete the task use the Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) to install the cooling Fan Clutch on the Water Pump Pulley and attach the Fan Clutch electrical connector followed by reconnecting the battery negative cable.
