    Q:
How to replace the RH engine mount and engine mount bracket on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the right engine mount and bracket is disconnecting the battery negative cable. Disconnect the electrical connector of the Fan Clutch. The Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) should be used to disconnect the cooling Fan Clutch from the Water Pump Pulley before leaving it free inside the fan shroud. The procedure begins by disconnecting the MAP Sensor electrical connector and its retainer after which follows MAP Sensor removal. The right shock module should be removed if the frame engine mount will be taken out. Raise the vehicle after you remove the nuts securing upper right and left engine mount points. Unfasten the right and left lower engine mount nuts and also remove the engine protection shield. When installing a jack against the Oil Pan prevent hitting the oil level sender with the equipment. Apply a floor jack on the Oil Pan using wood while lowering the vehicle until the engine clears the mount studs. Separate the right engine mount from its bracket while noting where it encountered the heat shield during installation before you remove both bracket bolts and the mount bracket itself. Additionally remove the right frame engine mount bracket bolts and the bracket from service. Keep the right frame engine mount bracket in place then install it before tightening bolts to 110 n.m (81 lb ft). After placing the right engine mount bracket into position you must attach it with bolts and tighten them to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Position the right engine mount correctly while maintaining the heat shield position above the anti-rotation feature. Lower down the engine until it rests on engine mounts then install right and left upper engine mount nuts while torquing them to 70 n.m (52 lb ft). Place the engine protection shield on and fasten it with bolts when the vehicle is raised from the floor. The technician installs right and left lower engine mount nuts while tightening them to 70 n.m (52 lb ft). The vehicle must then be lowered. To finalize installation mount the right shock module and attach the MAP Sensor alongside its MAP Sensor retainer and electrical connector then use Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) to attach the cooling Fan Clutch to the Water Pump Pulley. Reconnect the battery negative cable while connecting the electrical Fan Clutch connector.
