The replacement process starts by disconnecting both the
Fan Clutch electric connection and negative
Battery Cable. The j 46406 (Fan Clutch Remover and Installer) will extract the cooling Fan Clutch from the Water Pump Pulley so it becomes loose inside the
Fan Shroud. Start by disconnecting both the electrical connector from
MAP Sensor retainer then taking out the MAP Sensor from the system. The left shock module should be taken out before the frame mount removal procedure begins. Raise the vehicle after removing the right and left upper engine mount nuts then uninstall the right and left lower engine mount nuts. The jack must be set on the
Oil Pan carefully while avoiding damage to the oil level sender plus removal of the engine protection shield needs to happen. Use a floor jack with wood support to reach the Oil Pan while the vehicle rests on the ground. Increase the engine height enough to free the engine mount stud. The first step involves removing the left engine mount to bracket nut and then extracting both the mount and the bracket from the nut. After that the technician removes the left engine mount bracket bolts before uninstalling the left engine mount bracket. Disassembly of the left frame engine mount bracket bolts and its bracket can occur when necessary. Start the installation process by installing the left frame engine mount bracket whenever necessary then bolt it securely before torquing bolts to 110 n.m (81 lb ft). The left engine mount bracket needs to be secured with bolts before tightening them to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). First position the left engine mount on its bracket then place the engine onto the mounts before fixing the right and left upper mount nuts to 70 n.m (52 lb ft). After lifting a vehicle one must remove the jack then set the engine protection shield in position before securing it with bolts. Position the right and left lower engine mount nuts before torquing them to 70 n.m (52 lb ft) then lower the vehicle. The installation process ends with left shock module attachment and placement of MAP Sensor and MAP Sensor retainer along with its electrical connector and usage of the j 46406 (Fan Clutch Remover and Installer) to secure the Fan Clutch to the Water Pump Pulley followed by connecting the Fan Clutch electrical connector before reconnecting the negative cable.
