- Q: How to replace the right side engine mount on 2009 GMC Envoy?A: A replacement process for right side engine mounts starts with lifting and supporting the vehicle while removing front tires and wheels next to disassemble the engine protection shield. Start by taking out the front differential carrier followed by removing the shock module together with the left side wheel drive shaft. Start by taking out the Engine Mount frame bracket retaining nuts before proceeding to remove the three upper Engine Mount Bracket mounting bolts that link to the engine block bracket and finally the retaining bolts from the frame Engine Mount Bracket. Evaluate the transmission support crossmember by lifting the engine 2.25 inches with a pole jack supported under the Oil Pan while using wood blocks between them. Position the engine towards the left of the frame. Disconnect the frame bracket from the Engine Mount along with an upper bracket assemblage to promptly detach it from the upper assembly while discarding any damaged Engine Mount Bracket spacers. The Engine Mount Bracket spacer requires installation when needed while its bolts should be tightened to 50 nm (37 lb ft) until the cut-out section of the Engine Mount shield faces away from the engine location. Secure both Engine Mount nuts to the upper Engine Mount Bracket at 50 nm (37 lb ft). After this, attach the Engine Mount to the engine with bolts that require a torque of 50 nm (37 lb ft). After attaching the Engine Mount frame bracket to the frame through tight retaining bolts reaching 100 nm (74 lb ft) torque, position the engine to the right frame side before fixing the left Engine Mount frame bracket while retaining bolts achieve 100 nm (74 lb ft). You should lower the engine while keeping Engine Mount studs pointed toward frame bracket holes, then remove the pole jack and wooden block before tightening all Engine Mount nuts to 50 nm (37 lb ft). Install all remaining components which include the shock module and front differential carrier as well as left side wheel drive shaft and engine protection shield and front tire and wheels before lowering the vehicle down.
