How to replace the upper control arm on 2006 GMC Savana 3500?

To remove the upper Control Arm, first, lift and support the unit, and jut the lower arm to support it with the jack stand. Include removal of tire, wheel and then remove brake hose and wheel speed sensor brackets retaining bolts. If necessary, remove the wheel drive shaft (4WD only). Next, get rid of the upper Ball Joint retaining nut and unscrew the upper Control Arm from the Steering Knuckle using the j 43631 (Ball Joint Remover) and j 45851 (Ball Joint Separator Protector Adapters). Remove the upper Control Arm nuts and adjustment cams, followed by the upper Control Arm bolts, and, lastly, remove the upper Control Arm. For installation, you will need to install the new upper Control Arm with its bolts, paying close attention to the fastener notice in service precautions. Tightening the nuts to 175 nm (129 ft. Lbs.) and attaching the upper Control Arm to the Steering Knuckle. Replace the new upper Ball Joint retaining nut and tighten it to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the wheel drive shaft (4WD only) along with the retaining bolts for the brake hose and Steering Knuckle bolt reads wheel speed sensor brackets and install the brake hose bracket to Steering Knuckle bolt and brake hose bracket to upper Control Arm bolt, tightening the brake hose (4WD) bracket to Steering Knuckle bolt to 10 (88 inch lbs) and brake hose bracket to upper Control Arm bolt to 10 (88 inch lbs) each, if applicable. Finally, mount the tire and the wheel, remove the safety stands, lower the vehicle and verify the alignment of wheels.
