How to replace the side front door check strap on 2006 GMC Savana 3500?

Start with opening the door until it reaches about halfway position and move the side door check toward the interior then proceed with swinging the door open. First remove the fasteners attaching the side door check to the door pillar before extracting the side door check out of the door. Place the side door check inside the door and position it to attach to the pin inside the opening of the door while taking care to pull the check to set the pin in place. Secure the side door check into place by installing fasteners on the door pillar then tighten the bolts or nuts to reach 10 N.m (89 lb in).
