The case halves should be parted first while extracting the evaporator core seal and its core from the auxiliary HVAC module. Look for damage on the gaskets and seals before performing replacements when required. After applying refrigerant to the evaporator you should insert the new evaporator core in the auxiliary HVAC module followed by using the evaporator core seal to secure it. Seal the case using spare screws while tightening each screw to 2 N.m (16 lb in). Installation of the auxiliary HVAC module must follow a leak test on all fittings that utilizes the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
