How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 2 Sensor 1 on 2006 GMC Sierra 1500?

In order to change the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 2 Sensor 1, raise and support the vehicle first. Pry off the clip holding the HO2S to the harness and then remove the HO2S from the harness clip. Then, remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer and disconnect the HO2S electrical connector prior to removing the bank 2 HO2S. Make sure to use a special anti-seize compound during HO2S thread installation this compound is made up of a liquid graphite and glass beads, new or service replacing sensors already have it applied. If the old HO2S needs to be reinstalled make sure you coat the thread for it with anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953, or equivalent. Mount the bank 2 HO2S and apply 42 N.m (31 lb ft) of force. Reconnect the HO2S electrical connector, install CPA retainer, hospital HO2S to the harness clip, and finally lower the vehicle.
