How to replace the rear disc brake backing plate on the 25/3500 Series on 2006 GMC Sierra 3500?

To install a new rear disc brake backing plate to the 25/3500 Series, switch off the park brake cable automatic adjuster and roll off the park brake shoe. Unscrew the backing plate off the axle housing flange and screw it back on and the park brake shoe, and adjust. Note the Fastener Notice and Brake Dust Caution.
