  A: Before working on the Turn Signal Switch start disabling the SIR system and take off both upper and lower trim covers. Also reinstall the abrasion sleeve on the steering column wire harness assembly while marking where the connector sits for easy placement back. Unplug the wire harness assembly from the strap and disconnect the turn signal and switch assembly plug from the coil connector in the SIR system. Slide both connectors out of the bulkhead connector setup on the turn signal and switch assembly. Then take off the 2 pan head tapping screws that attach the assembly to the steering column tilt head part. Refer the turn signal and switch assembly to the steering column tilt head assembly, confirming electrical contact lays on the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Use two pan head tapping screws and tightly fasten them to 1 N.m (9 lb in). Place the two connectors inside the bulkhead connector then plug the turn signal and switch assembly connection with the SIR coil connector. Attach the abrasion sleeve back onto the steering column wire harness assembly with precise matching of the ignition lock cylinder case wires and connector placement.
