2007 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser in the HVAC system on 2007 Buick Lucerne?
A: Starting the HVAC condenser replacement process includes recovering all refrigerants first. Start with removing the front compartment sight shield and the hood latch support. You must first disconnect the discharge hose nut from the condenser before extracting both the condenser's liquid line and suction hose nut. Finish by removing the suction hose itself. Move the discarded sealing washers before removing the condenser lines to radiator mounting bolts along with the condenser mounting bolts. Extract the condenser from its radiator retainer space followed by its removal from the vehicle. Before attaching the new condenser unit make sure to introduce refrigerant oil into its system. Install the condenser inside the radiator retainer before tightening the condenser mounting bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in). The condenser line requires the mounting bracket to be reused before mounting the radiator and tightening to 6 N.m (53 lb in). Position the new sealing washers at their mounting points before tightening the condenser's suction hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft). Install both the liquid line and its attaching nut then tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft). The hood latch bracket along with an A/C system recharge follows a Halogen Leak Detector test (J 39400-A) before reinstalling the front compartment sight shield.
