One needs to remove the lower Intake Manifold first, next are the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Next, remove the lifter guide bolts as well as the valve lifter guides, after which you would pull off the valve lifters and degrease all gasket surfaces. For installation, lubricate the valve lifters with prelube then install it. Install the threadlock gm p/n 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953389) or equivalent on the thread inside the lifter guide bolt pedestal and then install the valve lifter guides. Install the valve lifter guide bolts and tighten them up to 10 n.m (89 lb in). At last, refit the valve rocker arms, pushrods and lower Intake Manifold.
