2007 Buick Rendezvous Wheel Seal Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the right front wheel drive shaft wheel seal on 2007 Buick Rendezvous?
A: Begin replacing the right front wheel drive shaft oil seal by elevating the vehicle before removing the right front tire along with wheel assembly then right engine splash shield. The first step deals with removing the right stabilizer shaft links connecting to the right lower Control Arm and uninstalling the right Tie Rod End from the right Steering Knuckle along with extracting the right lower Ball Joint from the Control Arm. Attach the right wheel drive shaft to the right Steering Knuckle and strut after taking it out from the transaxle. Professional lifter tools including slide hammer (J 6125-B) and slide hammer adapter (J 6125-1B) and universal seal remover (J 23129) enable extraction of wheel drive shaft oil seal from transmission. Before installing the new seal apply a small amount of transaxle fluid to its lip and place the axle seal protector (J 37292-B) inside it. The Axle Shaft seal installer (J 29130) enables proper new seal installation by slowly guiding the Axle Shaft through the lip seal while refraining from contacting any shaft splines to the seal lip surface to avoid damages. Step by step the wheel drive shaft receives its fitment along with the right lower ball join into the Steering Knuckle and the right Tie Rod End which connects to the Steering Knuckle and the right stabilizer shaft links are fitted to the right lower Control Arm. The correct procedure is to install the right engine splash shield while you reinstall the right front tire with its wheel assembly and lower the vehicle and then add automatic transmission fluid before leak inspections.
