  A: The process of replacing a left front wheel drive shaft oil seal begins by properly supporting the vehicle and removing its left front tire along with wheel assembly and left engine splash shield. Start by disconnecting the left stabilizer shaft links which attach to the left lower Control Arm and remove the left Tie Rod End from the left Steering Knuckle as well as the left lower Ball Joint from this same component. Route the left wheel drive shaft through the left Steering Knuckle and strut then fasten it in position. Centers around the transmission extraction of wheel drive shaft oil seal using the slide hammer (J 6125-B) attached to slide hammer adapter (J 6125-1B), universal seal remover (J 23129). Installation begins with applying lightweight transaxle fluid to the seal lip followed by setting the new seal (409) under the axle seal protector (J 37292-B) before using the sprocket bearing installer (J 34115) to install the new seal. To prevent damage to the lip seal use proper guidance of the Axle Shaft and reinstall the wheel drive shaft to the transaxle before removing the axle seal protector (J 37292-B). Step 1 includes the installation of left lower Ball Joint and left Tie Rod End and left stabilizer shaft links. Finally, left engine splash shield and left front tire and wheel assembly need to be installed. Lower the vehicle then refuel the automatic transmission before checking for any fluid leakage.
