2007 Buick Terraza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front brake line on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: To replace the front brake hose, raise and support the vehicle first, removoro the tire and wheel assembly. Any dirt around the brake hose and brake pipe fittings should be cleaned, and a rubber cap or plug should be fixed on the brake exposed brake pipe fitting to avoid fluid loss and contamination thereby. Pull the brake pipe fitting off of the brake hose removing the brake hose retainer from the brake hose using a flat-bladed tool to pull the hose retainer off. Next unclamp the brake hose from brake hose bracket and break hose bolt from brake caliper before the brake hose detaches from brake caliper . Throw away the two copper brake hose gaskets which may stick to the brake caliper or brake hose end, and plug a rubber plug into the brake hose bolt opening of the brake caliper to avoid fluids losses. For installation, you should remove the rubber plug discarding the idea of using old copper brake hose gaskets with the brake hose bolt and the brake hose. Installation of brake hose bolt: install the brake hose bolt to brake caliper and tightening it to 54 n.m (40 lb ft), the brake hose should not twisted or turned in because it lines up with the notch in the brake hose bracket using the stripe on hose. Mount the brake hose to the brake hose bracket and fasten it using brake hose retainer. Pull off the rubber cap of the brake pipe fitting end and connect the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose, tighten to 21 n.m (15 lb ft). Do not move the car until the firm brake pedal given that air in the brake unit will cause brake failure. Last but not least, bleed the brake caliper on the bleeder screw, replace the tire and wheel assembly, and lower the vehicle.
