- Q: How to replace the rear brake calipers on 2007 Buick Terraza?A: Start your brake caliper replacement by checking the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level. Drain fluid to the midway point if it shows above that mark. Lift the vehicle and put supports in place before you take off both tire and wheel components. Loosen the park brake system tension at the equalizer then detach the park brake cables from their connector clip. Detach the park brake cable from the park brake lever located at the brake caliper and take out the component from the mounted bracket. Take out the brake hose and remove the caliper bolt. Disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper and discard the 2 copper brake hose gaskets that might be attached to it. Close the brake caliper and brake hose ports with proper topping to keep the fluid tidy before you uninstall the brake caliper bolts and brake caliper hardware. Check the Brake Pad pin position on piston face before you place Brake Pad hardware and bracket bolt guide assembly through inspection. Join the brake caliper to its bracket by ensuring all guide boots are intact then tighten the bolts to 34 n.m (25 lb ft). Install new gaskets to the brake hose end plugs then assemble the brake hose connectors with the bolt. Draw the brake hose towards the brake caliper and tighten its bolt all the way. Keep the build-up tension on the brake hose when tightening to 40 n.m and 30 lb-ft. Stack the park brake cable onto the caliper bracket park brake bracket slot and attach it to the park brake lever end. Keep rear park brake cables properly positioned and secured between 10mm and 12mm from wheel drive shafts while also using strap retainers or their equal. Reinsert the park brake cable routing bracket first, then pump the brakes from zero travel to two-thirds pedal distance when the engine is off until you reach a strong braking feel. Repeat this process until the pedal becomes firm. Check the park brakes and put back the tire and wheel parts before lowering the vehicle.
