How to replace the front crankshaft seal on 2007 Cadillac CTS?

The process of front crankshaft oil seal replacement begins by removing the drive belts from A/C Compressor and power steering pump then continuing with generator followed by water pump and finally the crankshaft balancer. A flat-bladed tool should be used to remove the crankshaft oil seal. The installation process requires skipping any lubrication for the crankshaft front oil seal as well as the sealing surfaces of the crankshaft balancer. The oil seal installer (J 29184) allows installation of the new crankshaft front oil seal before reattaching the crankshaft balancer then placing the generator and water pump Drive Belt, followed by the A/C Compressor and power steering pump Drive Belt.
