The replacement of the front crankshaft oil seal requires the removal sequence to begin with the A/C Compressor and power steering pump Drive Belt followed by the generator and water pump Drive Belt and ending with the crankshaft balancer removal. The extraction of the crankshaft oil seal requires installation of a flat-bladed tool. The installation of both components must avoid any lubrication of the crankshaft front oil seal as well as the crankshaft balancer sealing surfaces. The installation process begins with using the oil seal installer (J29184) on the new crankshaft front oil seal followed by reinstalling the crankshaft balancer and subsequently installing the drive belts in this order: generator and water pump first and then the A/C Compressor and power steering pump.
