In order to replace the engine front cover, start with the removal of the engine cover, for lp1 and ly7 engines, upper and lower
Intake Manifold is removed as well. For llt engines, take off the Intake Manifold. After that, remove the camshaft covers, drain the engine coolants, separate the purge vent hose from the water outlet, and take down the water outlet with the
Radiator Hose. Move on and remove the accessory
Drive Belts, follow this by A/C Compressor and power steering belt tensioner, and then the generator bracket that includes the generator and belt tensioner without disconnecting the power steering pipes or draining the fluid. Thereafter you would need to reposition the power steering fluid reservoir, remove the
Power Steering Pump pulley; the Power Steering Pump upper front bolt, while loosening all the remaining ones. Next, pull off the crankshaft balancer,
Camshaft Position Sensors, and camshaft position actuator solenoid valves from the front cover. Take off the engine front cover with the
Water Pump and disengage it carefully, making sure not to encounter sharp or metal gasket scrapers on the edges of the sealing. Clean the sealing surfaces and blow the engine coolant from the cooling passage with compressed air. For installation, install the engine front cover with the en 46109, install cam shaft position actuator solenoid valves and cam shaft position sensors and install the crankshaft balancer. Replace the Power Steering Pump with its pulley, followed by the power steering fluid reservoir, generator bracket with the generator and belt tensioner, a/c compressor and power steering belt tensioner, and accessory drive belts. Finally install the water outlet, reconnect the purge vent hose, fill the cooling system followed by reinstallation of the camshaft covers, intake manifold for llt or the upper and lower Intake Manifold lp1 and ly7 engines and then finally set the engine cover back up and fill the cooling system again.
