How to replace the Dipstick Tube on Cadillac CTS?

The replacement process for the oil level indicator and tube requires turning off ignition followed by extracting the indicator from its tube. The first step involves removing the tank nut leading to mattress rod and moving the vehicle upward. The first step is to remove the Knock Sensor combined with the heat shield clip installed on the oil level indicator tube followed by reducing vehicle height while making notes about the secondary (small square) heat shield placement. The Exhaust Manifold requires the oil level indicator tube to be removed by pulling it upward. The oil level indicator tube seal must be thrown out when it is the only part you need to replace. Correct placement of the secondary heat shield on the oil level indicator tube follows the removal procedure. Rise and position the vehicle once again then reinstall the Knock Sensor and fasten the heat shield clip to the oil level indicator tube before finishing the procedure.
