• Q: How to replace the engine front timing cover on 2007 Cadillac CTS?

  A: Before replacing the engine front cover you must first remove the fuel injector sight shield and upper and lower intake manifolds and the camshaft covers. Engine cooling fluid needs draining through the draining and filling cooling system (GE 47716) according to lp1, ly7 static fill, or ls2 static fill fill procedures. Start the procedure by detaching the purge vent hose from the water outlet then uninstall the whole Radiator Hose-water outlet assembly and place the parts aside. Start by taking out the accessory drive belts followed by removing the A/C Compressor and power steering belt tensioner. The generator bracket must be detached from its components including the generator and belt tensioner while preventing damage to power steering pipes and their associated fluid should remain intact. Begin by moving the power steering fluid reservoir to gain access and then remove the Power Steering Pump pulley followed by upper front Power Steering Pump bolt and the two remaining bolts. Begin removal of the crankshaft balancer while also taking out the engine cover with Water Pump along with the oil control valves.
