  A: The replacement of engine oil and Oil Filter begins by properly raising and supporting the vehicle at its desired height. Place an oil drain pan at the base of the engine oil Drain Plug before you remove it while you check the plug for damage then replace it as needed. Examine and fix the sealing surface on the Oil Pan before making any replacements. Clean the Oil Filter adapter's sealing area before checking and possibly replacing the Oil Filter adapter. Apply clean oil to the new Oil Filter before installation and apply a small drop of oil to the gasket before tightening it to 3/4 to 1 full turn on contact with the mount surface. Finally reinstall the engine oil Drain Plug using 20 n.m of torque and then lower the vehicle to the ground. Add fresh oil to the engine while visually checking for any signs of leakage once the engine starts.
