2007 Cadillac SRX Air Suspension Compressor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Air Suspension Compressor on 2007 Cadillac SRX?
A: Vehicle elevation and support system needs activation before air compressor replacement steps can begin. Begin by disconnecting the exhaust system from its rear hangers and removing all bolts which secure the automatic level control (ALC) compressor bracket. Lower the alc compressor assembly carefully while twisting the air tube at the clamp on the compressor end before disconnecting the tube from the alc compressor. Before moving to the next step the alc electrical harness connector must be disconnected and the alc compressor bracket side mounting nut requires removal before taking out the alc compressor and its bracket from the vehicle. Remove alc compressor top bracket mounting screw followed by separating the alc bracket from the alc compressor by disconnecting the electrical harness connector from the alc bracket and dislodging the bleed hose from the clip and removing the alc bracket to alc compressor screws. To install the alc bracket into position with the alc compressor install alc bracket to alc compressor screws using torque of 9 n.m (80 lb in). Reattach the bleed hose clip beneath the system before plugging in the alc compressor bracket electrical connector and the air tube to its compressor. Reattach the alc electrical harness connector while installing the alc bracket side mounting nut then tighten the alc bracket mounting bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). The exhaust system needs to be reattached to the rear exhaust hangers while raising the vehicle back to its original height.
