• Q: How to replace the Air Suspension Compressor on 2006 Cadillac SRX?

  A: First raise and support the vehicle before starting the air compressor replacement process. First disconnect the exhaust system from the rear exhaust hangers before using a torque wrench to remove the automatic level control (ALC) compressor bracket mounting bolts so you can carefully drop the alc compressor assembly. You should disconnect the air tube from the alc compressor clamp by twisting it then separate the alc electrical harness connector. Take out the alc compressor with bracket from the vehicle by first removing its side mounting nut. Start by detaching the electrical harness connector from the alc bracket while you unfasten the alc compressor top bracket mounting screw. Then, disconnect the bleed hose from its clip before removing the screws that secure the alc bracket to the alc compressor. Install the alc bracket onto the alc compressor afterward put the alc bracket screws into the alc compressor and tighten them to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). Position the bleed hose onto the clip before you add the electrical connector to the alc compressor bracket and attach the air tube to the alc compressor body. First secure the alc electrical harness connector and install the alc bracket side nut before tightening all alc bracket mounting bolts to 9 nm torque tighten. Lower the vehicle and reinstall the exhaust system back to the rear exhaust hangers.
