How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 2 on 2006 Cadillac SRX?

The first step to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 2 starts with shutting off the ignition and supporting the vehicle by raising it. First remove the HO2S from the transmission case by pulling the wiring harness connector and electrical connector from the HO2S before extraction. The oxygen sensor removal process becomes simpler when the engine reaches 48°C (120°F) or higher. The installation requires repositioning the HO2S as new oxygen sensors already feature a special anti-seize compound on their sensor threads. Before reinstalling the original sensor users must apply GM P/N 5613695 or equivalent anti-seize compound to the threads. Tighten the HO2S to 40 N.m (30 lb ft) while reinstalling the wiring harness to the transmission case then reconnecting the HO2S electrical connector before lowering the vehicle.
