2007 Cadillac SRX Brake Booster Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the vacuum brake booster (LHD) on 2007 Cadillac SRX?
A: The replacement of a vacuum Brake Booster (LHD) starts with removing the left closeout/insulator panel. Begin by removing the brake pedal vacuum Brake Booster Pushrod retaining clip then disconnect the vacuum Brake Booster Pushrod. The cross vehicle brace needs removal only if it exists so check the brake pipes remain connected to the master cylinder. Move the master cylinder away from the vacuum Brake Booster before placing it to the side. To reach the vacuum Brake Booster locking tab you must first remove the air inlet grille panel while setting the surge tank inlet hose safely aside. Secure the coolant surge tank inlet hose after you detach its bolts and set the coolant surge tank away from the area to avoid coolant leakage. Fix the j 22805-b (J 22805-B) on the vacuum Brake Booster with master cylinder mounting nuts while disconnecting the vacuum Brake Booster check valve. Unlock the vacuum Brake Booster at its cowl front by depressing the locking tab with a flat-bladed tool during counterclockwise motion using a ratchet attached to the j 22805-b . Take out the vacuum Brake Booster from its cowl mounting flange while providing support during extraction. Insert the vacuum Brake Booster foam filter to reveal the retaining clip then lift the longer of its two legs to extract the Pushrod . Make sure to protect all internal components and both locking flange areas should be free of damage when installing the devices. Although consider the vacuum booster locking tab alignment before installing the Pushrod vacuum booster through the cowl's dust boot. You should install the vacuum Brake Booster onto the Pushrod by placing its long retainer clip into the machined groove. Control the vacuum Brake Booster position on the cowl using counterclockwise motion to place the locking flanges against each other before using a j 22805-b ratchet to turn the booster clockwise until the locking tab engages the locking notch. After removing the j 22805-b connect the vacuum hose together with its check valve component. Reinstall this assembly. Lowtech engineers need to reinstall each component into its proper position including the vacuum Brake Booster Pushrod and securing the retaining clip while reconnecting the brake pedal. First install the cross vehicle brace followed by attaching the vacuum Brake Booster Pushrod to the brake pedal through its retaining clip. The installation ends with replacement of the left closeout/insulator panel.
