  A: First support the brake caliper using heavy mechanic's wire after extracting it from the Brake Caliper Bracket to prevent hydraulic brake flexible hose damage. Begin replacement by taking out brake pads together with Brake Pad retainers from the Brake Caliper Bracket before removing the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts to extract the rear Brake Caliper Bracket. Brake caliper brackets should be replaced immediately if they display evidence of damage or cracks. Begin the installation process by cleaning caliper bracket bolt threads and knuckle holes with denatured alcohol or equivalent solution until the surfaces are residue-free. Next, apply threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canada P/N 10953488) to 2/3 of the lower caliper bracket bolt threads. Allow time for cure at approximately 10 minutes before bolt installation. Secure the Brake Caliper Bracket bolts with a torque of 120 n.m (88 lb ft) after applying threadlocker to two-thirds of their threaded length. To complete the repair install the Brake Pad retainers following the brake pads onto the Brake Caliper Bracket before inserting the brake caliper.
