The first step to replace the rear side door latch requires removing the door trim panel together with the inside Door Handle and water deflector. Disengage the door latch clip before removing the outside handle rod until it separates from its position. Reposition the inside handle rod outside its guide mechanism before pushing the inside lock rod grommet through the available hole. Begin by unscrewing the door latch screws then pull out the door latch while keeping its attached inside Door Handle rod and lock rod connected before breaking the electrical connector connection. After removing these components disconnect the handle rod and lock rod from the latch. When installing the door latch into the door you must first tighten its screws to achieve 10 n.m (89 lb in).
