2007 Chevrolet Colorado Intake Manifold Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2007 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: Begin the Intake Manifold replacement procedure by taking out the Throttle Body along with the battery box and oil level indicator and tube and disconnecting the Brake Booster hose from the Brake Booster. The maintenance process begins with removing three components: engine wiring harness electrical connector from the MAP Sensor and the retainer from the Intake Manifold and the pcv tube from the camshaft cover. First detach the generator along with the Intake Manifold engine wiring harness retainer followed by unfastening the two upper bolts which secure the engine wiring harness bracket to the Intake Manifold. You must lift the vehicle high enough to reach the components through the wheelhouse opening before taking out the left front wheel and left front wheelhouse liner. The wiring harness retainers of battery cable engine (4, 6), and MAP Sensor require removal before extracting the remaining engine wiring harness bracket lower bolt through the wheelhouse opening. Lower the vehicle while removing the Intake Manifold bolts then detach the Intake Manifold from the cylinder head by discarding the old gasket seal and covering open ports with masking material to block engine entry. Maintenance procedure requires these steps: the sealing surface on the cylinder head must be clean and dry before inserting a new seal into the Intake Manifold groove and positioning the Intake Manifold correctly on the cylinder head. Access the Intake Manifold bolts by lifting the vehicle once more to reach the engine wiring harness bracket bolts and wiring harnesses. Install the Intake Manifold bolts beginning at the inside then working toward the outside to achieve a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Secure the engine wiring harness bracket to the engine block with bolts torqued to 10 n.m (89 lb in). After reinstalling the engine wiring harness retainers that hold battery cable and engine components (4, 6) and MAP Sensor , install left front wheelhouse liner and left front wheel followed by lowering the vehicle. Secure the pcv dirty air tube to the camshaft cover and wire the engine wiring harness retainer to the Intake Manifold before installing the generator and attendant vehicle sensor wiring. Connect the Brake Booster hose to the Brake Booster while installing the oil level indicator and tube along with the battery box and Throttle Body as the final components.
