2007 Chevrolet Corvette Clutch Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder on 2007 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Start the Clutch Master Cylinder replacement by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by removing the left instrument panel lower insulator panel. Remove the Clutch Master Cylinder rod retainer and Clutch Master Cylinder rod which are found inside the clutch pedal before you uninstall the windshield washer solvent container. Before installation raise the car and detach the clutch actuator cylinder hose from its restraining bracket under the Brake Master Cylinder by undoing the hose retaining clip. Remove also the Clutch Hose connection retaining clip. Protect the Clutch Master Cylinder connection by separating the Clutch Hose while maintaining a protective barrier around the hose coupling ends. Slowly lower the vehicle on its hoist stand before you take out the Clutch Master Cylinder reservoir from its bracket. Rotate the Clutch Master Cylinder by 45 degrees then remove it from the dash panel before uninstalling both clutch components from the vehicle. When you install the Clutch Master Cylinder with reservoir position the master cylinder at a 45-degree angle before dashboard insertion while maintaining restraint from over-tightening the installation. Secure the Clutch Master Cylinder reservoir between the reservoir bracket and the windshield washer solvent container. After raising the vehicle the technician must securely install the Clutch Hose connection retaining clip while avoiding manual or visual verification as the only method for leak-free clutch hydraulic hose quick connect fitting attachment. Push fit the end of the clutch actuator cylinder hose onto the Clutch Master Cylinder hose and verify full attachment by pulling the fittings. After ensuring the clutch hydraulic hoses have no kinks or twists you must place the clutch actuator cylinder hose inside the hose retaining clip located beneath the Brake Master Cylinder. Lower the vehicle before installing the Clutch Master Cylinder rod into the clutch pedal position. Secure this rod by attaching the Clutch Master Cylinder rod retainer. First reconnect the negative Battery Cable before installing the left instrument panel lower insulator panel and tightening the negative Battery Cable bolt to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). As the concluding step you must program the transmitters and perform a bleed operation on the clutch hydraulic system.
