  • Q: How to replace the starter motor on 2007 Chevrolet HHR?
    A: To replace the Starter motor begin by disconnecting the cable of negative battery and lift and support the vehicle. Unscrew the Starter solenoid nut and then pull off the positive/negative Battery Cable terminal and the engine harness terminal from the Starter. Then, remove the Starter solenoid terminal "s " and the engine harness terminal from the Starter solenoid. I take out the Starter bolts and pull out the Starter. The Starter should be positioned to the engine for installment and Starter bolts should be installed, fastened to 40 n.m (30 lb ft). Mount the Starter solenoid to the Starter framework and connect the engine harness terminal to the Starter solenoid and hold the Starter solenoid "s" with its terminal nut to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Connect the engine harness terminal to the Starter and then follow by the positive/negative Battery Cable terminal. Lastly, install the Starter solenoid nut (-17 N.m (13 lb ft), vehicle down, negative cable reconnected).
