How to replace the starter motor on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should start replacement of the Starter motor by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by raising and supporting the vehicle. After disconnecting the Starter's electrical connectors (3,4,5) you must remove the Starter bolts and unscrew the Starter. The installation process begins with Starter motor placement along with strict compliance to fastener notice in service precautions. After installing the Starter bolts tighten them to 40 n.m (30 lb ft). After connecting the electrical connectors (4,5) to the Starter, tighten its battery terminal nut to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). The Starter requires connection of s terminal connector and the battery terminal nut requires tightening to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Drop the vehicle before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
