How to replace the trailing arm on 2007 Chevrolet Malibu?

Follow this procedure to replace a Trailing Arm: start by raising then supporting the vehicle and removing the tire along with its wheel. The installation process requires removal of both the Trailing Arm bracket to body bolts and the Trailing Arm to knuckle through bolt. Detach the Parking Brake Cable from the Trailing Arm before extracting the Trailing Arm from the vehicle and using a wrench to remove the Trailing Arm to bracket bolt and nut to separate the Trailing Arm from the bracket. Install the Trailing Arm and bracket by tightening the through bolt between them to 60 n.m (44 lb ft) along with a 60-degree torque angle. Install the Trailing Arm to its proper vehicle position and apply 180 n.m (133 lb ft) of torque to the Trailing Arm to knuckle bolts as you tighten them. Position the Parking Brake Cable onto the Trailing Arm before attaching the Trailing Arm bracket to the body and tightening its bolts to 90 n.m (66 lb ft) with an additional 30 degrees of torque. Put the tire and wheel on before letting the vehicle down.
