2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Door Striker Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the rear door striker on a Crew Cab on 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
A: The first step to change the rear door striker for Crew Cabs requires you to take out the lower striker bolt. Rotate the striker with an attached spacer until enough space exists between the lower bolt hole. Secure the lower striker bolt until it holds the striker backing plate adequately in position. Moving next you must remove the upper striker bolt and if present the spacer before finally taking out the striker. The installation process should start by placing the striker along with the spacer when equipped before securing the upper striker bolt. You should rotate the lower striker bolt until the threaded hole on the top of the plate matches its proper position. Begin by detaching the lower bolt after which you should rotate the striker unit while the spacer (if present) to achieve proper alignment of the lower threaded opening in the striker backing plate. Tighten the striker bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
