2007 GMC Envoy Coil Springs Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the rear coil springs on 2007 GMC Envoy?
A: The process for replacing rear Coil Springs begins with supporting and raising the vehicle followed by adding the rear axle support. The installation process begins by disassembling shock absorber lower mounting bolts. Maintain the rear axle position at a height that avoids damaging upper control arms when they touch the frame. Lower the rear axle with caution by preventing contact between the Coil Springs' coating and any surface while protecting the springs from damage that can trigger premature failure. Following removal of the rear Coil Springs you should install the new ones. First raise the rear axle and thread in the shock absorber lower mounting bolts before tightening them to 85 n.m (63 lb ft). Once complete remove the rear axle support while lowering the vehicle down.
