How to Replace the Coolant Pipe in a Radiator Surge Tank on 2008 Cadillac CTS?

The replacement of the Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose/Pipe (LY7) VIN 7 W/O Direct Fuel Injection starts by draining the cooling system. You need J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers to disconnect the outlet hose from the surge tank. Begin by loosening the bolt which holds the surge tank outlet hose in place to the engine followed by removing the windshield wiper transmission. Remove the surge tank outlet hose from the thermostat assembly with J 38185 followed by removing the hose/pipe from the engine. Prior to installation position the surge tank outlet hose/pipe to the engine before attaching it to the thermostat assembly using J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers. First reinstall the windshield wiper transmission before tightening the bolt which connects the surge tank outlet pipe to the engine at 9 N.m (80 lb in). To complete the procedure use J 38185 to connect the outlet hose to the surge tank before filling the cooling system.
