How to replace the rear side door striker on 2008 Cadillac CTS?

The first step in replacing the rear side door lock striker requires you to turn off the ignition and remove the key because this prevents SIR from activating and protects you from harm. The striker requires marks made by a grease pencil for the installation process. First remove all screws and the striker piece and afterwards detach the striker plastic trim. Install the striker plastic trim first and position the stripper loosely into place by its bolts while aligning it to the previously marked spots. The door needs to be hand-tightened before checking its closing mechanism by adjusting the striker when possible. Complete the installation by screwing the striker bolts until they achieve a torque of 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
