Q: How to replace the front side Door Latch Assembly on 2008 Cadillac CTS?
A: Begin the front side door latch replacement by placing the window at full up and removing the door trim panel. Make the water deflector removal followed by disconnecting the lock cylinder rod from the door latch when it is present. First undo the door latch screws and remove the inside handle cable from retainers before pulling out the door latch and inside cotton cable. A flat bladed tool should be used to lift the electrical connector lock and then disconnect the electrical connector followed by removing the handle cable from the door latch. To install the system mount the inside door handle cable onto the door latch before connecting the electrical connector back. Install the door latch into the door while following the fastener notice then stabilize it using the door latch screws which need to be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The inside door handle cable should be dropped into its retainers after which you can put the outside door handle rod into the latch clip. Close the clip. Check the operational correctness of door handles and lock cylinder and door latch before putting back the water deflector and door trim panel.
