How to replace the front side Door Latch Assembly on 2009 Cadillac CTS?

The first step to replace the front side door latch involves putting the window in full up position then removing the door trim panel. Water deflectors should be removed first while simultaneously disconnecting the lock cylinder rod from the door latch provided by vehicle design. Separate the inside handle cable from its retainers as well as remove the door latch screws. Next proceed by removing both the door latch from the door while also removing the inside door handle cable. A small flat bladed tool will lift the electrical connector lock while you disconnect its electrical connector before removing the handle cable from the door latch. Install the inside door handle cable to the door latch first before connecting the electrical connector. After placing the door latch into the door you must install all door latch screws before tightening them to 10 Nm (89 lb in). After reattaching the inside handle cable to its retainers and installing the outside door handle rod into the latch clip and closing the clip. Test that all components of the door handles and lock cylinder and latch work correctly before fastening the water deflector followed by the door trim panel.
