The first step to replace the front side door latch on a sedan or wagon involves raising the window completely. Start by removing door trim panel followed by unfastening the water deflector. Extract the rod from the latch cylinder by disconnecting it from the door latch when provided. Secondary work comprises removing the front side door latch cover while detaching the inside handle cable from its retainers. Detach the door latch screws by hand and extract the door latch with its connected inside door handle cable. A flat-bladed small tool should be used to unlock the electrical connector before disconnecting the connection while the handle cable is extracted from the door latch. During setup this operation requires you to connect the inside door handle cable to the door latch followed by reattaching the electrical connector. Pass the door latch through the door opening while obeying fastener safety rules before installing it with door latch screws secured to 10 Nm (89 lb in). Reinstall the front side door latch cover while placing the inside handle cable into the retainers before allowing outside door handle rod insertion to close the latch clip.
