• Q: How to replace the rear drive shaft in an AWD on 2008 Cadillac CTS?

  A: First raise and support the vehicle to access the rear propeller shaft replacement on an awd vehicle. The exhaust system should be removed if required. Fitted cv joints must receive transfer case flange bolts that need tightening according to sequence (1-6) up to 40 n.m (29 lb ft). Reposition the shim packs on the support bearing according to their natural positions before mounting the center support bearing under the vehicle underbody and torquing support bearing bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft).
