How to replace the exhaust heat shield for the center bearing on 2008 Cadillac CTS?

The vehicle lifting process should begin before replacing the Exhaust Heat Shield around the center bearing assembly. Begin the replacement process by removing both bolts which attach the center bearing heat shield to its bearing base. Proceed by tilting the heat shield to opposite directions to pull it out between the body, drive shaft center bearing and exhaust pipes until complete removal. The new heat shield goes between the body and drive shaft center bearing and resonator with its holes matching those of the center bearing during installation. Install the bolts to fasten the center bearing heat shield before adjusting them to 8 n.m (71 lb in). Lower the vehicle.
