    Q:
How to replace the exhaust heat shield for the center bearing on Cadillac STS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the Exhaust Heat Shield center bearing replacement requires the vehicle to raise and support for proper installation. Next remove the bolts which secure the heat shield at the center bearing to the Drive Shaft center bearing element. The heat shield should be tilted to one side and slowly pulled out from its position between the body and Drive Shaft center bearing and exhaust pipes before being removed from the vehicle. Place the new heat shield after its insertion between the body and Drive Shaft center bearing and exhaust pipes with holes matching the center bearing hole pattern. Install the bolts on the center bearing heat shield while tightening them to 8 n.m (71 lb in). Finally, lower the vehicle.
