How to replace the exhaust heat shield for the center bearing on 2008 Cadillac SRX?

Begin replacement of the Exhaust Heat Shield for the center bearing by raising and supporting the vehicle. Unfasten the bolts that hold the center bearing heat shield in position to the center bearing. The heat shield must be tilted aside so you can pull it free from the body, drive shaft center bearing, and exhaust pipes before removing it altogether from the vehicle. The installation requires the new heat shield to be positioned between the body and Drive Shaft center bearing alongside the exhaust pipes while aligning the holes of the heat shield with those of the center bearing. Complete installation requires you to lower the vehicle after fastening the center bearing heat shield bolts to 8 n.m (71 lb in).
